ArtFight tentative (with Alfoxbot)

Alfoxbot

After yesterday’s computer breakdown, we can finally publish the weekly drawing!

Nimatek’s Instagram account was contacted by someone called Alfoxbot, who suggested that we take part in the “ArtFight” community, which consists of making drawings, responding to those drawings with other drawings, and so on. A drawing was thus made for Alfoxbot, representing his character, a sort of purple “furry” character, unsure of himself, but with classy clothes! Initially, the plan was to equip him with a revolver, but at Alfoxbot’s insistence, the revolver was swapped for a Nintendo zapper!

Basile par Alfoxbot

And so, as is the rule at ArtFight, Alfoxbot in turn drew a character featured in Nimatek. Unsurprisingly, it’s a character from the Nuibie universe, but surprisingly, he’s chosen a character who is currently quite secondary: Basile Citrus. No doubt this was the easiest character to hijack, because that’s exactly what he did: he completely hijacked the character, which is quite funny, I must say! In the end, it’s the Basile Citrus of a parallel universe that’s been drawn here!

In addition to a drawing, Alfoxbot also sent us some feedback on Nuibie College, hopefully the first in a long series! Judge for yourself:

Hi Técé, I really like your webcomic, but I have one small criticism to make: the social and political commentary you bring to your comic is pretty weak and very clearly shows your lack of knowledge on certain subjects (example: the pointless jab at inclusive writing), as someone “from the city”, believe me, teachers have other more important things to teach! I wish you all the best. 🙂

The return of Zouèbetévé (by Técé)

The return of Zouèbetévé

Following on from the drawing of the Marianne qui rit, I’m continuing to provide Nimatek with non-Nuibie content to diversify a little! 🙂

Context

In December 2020, I imagined and drew an android as the personification of a short but intense period of my life, from 2008 to 2010, during which I participated in various WebTVs, the most famous of which were VFM1 and Canal 12. These WebTVs objectively sucked, but considering how young I and my “colleagues” were at the time, it actually wasn’t that bad! Looking back, I have no qualms about saying that we were streamers before our time. We were simply too far ahead of our time, and we suffered what virtually all those who are ahead of their time suffer: misunderstanding, ignorance, and therefore oblivion. But that’s all right. 😉

The new drawing!

Four years after giving birth to the android WebTV, I decided to bring him out of the closet again, giving him a name (Zouèbetévé), and a slightly more cartoony look than before, but keeping the essentials: the head is in fact the VFM1 logo, the scarf has one of the colors of the Canal 12 logo, a “television bust” in the other color of the Canal 12 logo, legs in the colors of the VFM website, and the whole thing looks a bit messed up and patched up all over the place (one antenna is twisted, one leg has been sewn back on, etc.), as if to remind us that our WebTVs were a bit of a mess after all. ^^

Why does “la Marianne qui rit” laugh? (by Técé)

La Marianne qui rit

This drawing, completed on July 14th, perfect, the day for the French national holiday, illustrates Marianne, the personification of the French nation, with 1001 avatars, this time by the humble Creusot draftsman that I am! 🙂

Here, Marianne laughs in front of the Palais Bourbon, the eminent decision-making place for the land of the Lumières! But why is the Marianne laughing, you might ask? Well, because this Marianne, who embodies the third France of which I am a part, this forgotten, neglected, despised France, has been sullied for weeks by an elite made up of politicians, influencers, artists, sportsmen and women, etc. etc. She has been sullied, mocked, vilified, vilified, vilified, vilified, vilified, vilified, vilified, vilified, vilified. She has been smeared, mocked, defamed, you name it. And despite all that, she’s done pretty well for herself. So you’re going to tell me that doesn’t justify laughing. Patience, I’m coming to that! 😉

My Marianne is laughing now, because all those who smeared her, mocked her, defamed her, etc., those people steeped in smugness and contempt, are now in a situation where they don’t know what to do. The people who set the traps found themselves trapped, and here’s the result: my Marianne laughs! 🙂
